IBS Industries Celebrates 40 Years of Business

The employees and staff of IBS Industries were recognized for their 40 years in business as part of Mayor Reimal's Business Recognition Program. During a ceremony held at the IBS main office, Independence Mayor Don Reimal read a proclamation designating October 1st as IBS Industries Day in Independence. October is also observed as National Disability Employment Recognition month.

Independence and Blue Springs Industries, Inc. (IBS) is Eastern Jackson County's largest employer of individuals with disabilities and offers diverse employment options for over 250 individuals in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The company operates two sheltered workshops, manages several federal contacts through the AbilityOne program and operates Secure Document Solutions (document destruction services).
