The IBS Way

At IBS Industries the core values and ethical standards we espouse as board members, staff and employees are put into daily practice in what we all know as the "IBS Way". Any visitor to our facilities will see tangible examples of tenets of the IBS Way on inspirational posters throughout each building.

But the IBS Way is much more than words on our walls. It is a part of our daily language. Staff and employees discussing how to approach a solution can regularly be heard to say "that´s doing the IBS Way"; or conversely, "that´s not the IBS Way". The IBS Way serves as our inspiration for how we treat each other---staff, employees, board and family members. Living and working the IBS Way means breaking barriers between locations, positions, authorities, roles and responsibilities to hold each of us to the same standards of practice and behavior.

The core values of the IBS Way are:

As part of our ethical practices at IBS Industries, Inc. the Board of Directors and management of IBS Industries, Inc. is committed to maintaining compliance with all applicable federal, state and local legal requirements. These include:

  1. State of Missouri, DESE, Section of Sheltered Workshops Certificate of Authority.
  2. US Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division, Special Certificate.
  3. State of Missouri, Secretary of State, Certificate of Good Standing.
  4. Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County - EITAS, Affirmative Action Program.
  5. Developmental Disability Services of Jackson County - EITAS, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

IBS Industries, Inc. also remains committed to operating a safe facility, in compliance with all applicable OSHA regulations.

IBS Industries, Inc. shall adopt specific codes of conduct for the following areas:

  1. Business - Business practices shall be "above reproach" in all regards, including, but not limited to, bidding, purchasing and wage payments. Bidding shall include all applicable costs with consideration given to level of work in the shop at any given time. Purchasing shall be conducted on a basis of  "lowest, best" price, without consideration for any "gifts" from any supplier. Wage payments shall reflect current prevailing wage.
  2. Marketing - All marketing efforts shall reflect the dignity of work for our employees and not rely on employees disabling conditions. Marketing shall reflect ethical business practices.
  3. Service Delivery - All persons receiving services from IBS Industries, Inc. shall be accorded the respect and dignity of any employee of any corporation. All employees rights and right to privacy shall be safeguarded by all staff and board of the corporation.
  4. Professional Responsibilities - All persons associated with IBS Industries, Inc. shall conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. This includes conduct with regard to employees, conduct with regard to the general public and conduct with regard to customers.
  5. Human Resources - All persons involved with IBS Industries, Inc. shall endeavor to protect the confidentiality of all persons served by the corporation.
